My first yoga experience was 15 years ago. It challenged and relaxed me. My teacher was Binu Lav, from Kerala in India. It was a privilege to learn with him in the ancient way. Outside, one-to-one surrounded by the sounds of nature; the calm Eastern master shared some wisdom with his scatty Irish student!
Later on I experienced heart-breaking losses and illness, and returning to yoga was the one thing that always helped. Eventually I formed a daily practice, then qualified as an instructor. I live with a syndrome that causes me to experience chronic pain (fibromyalgia) from time to time, but I no longer suffer with clinical depression because of it. Yoga and music are my only medicines; consistent yoga practice has changed my life. Damp weather and cold here in Ireland can cause a flare-up every now and then. That's life. I am not a medic or therapist, but I believe 100% in yoga as natural medicine. It's my pleasure to share it on a part-time basis. Check out the "classes and workshops" section for details of my regular classes, and contact me if you would like me to bring a class in your community or workplace.
There's always more to learn, and I've had some genuine, lovely teachers along the way to inspire me. My motivation is enhanced by being in nature, the lovely people in my life, music, travelling and creativity.
